    THE JOB

     

    JOB SUMMARY
    The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Hospitality Intern is responsible for learning and executing the various policies and procedures required of the Hotel and Restaurant positions. The position is also responsible for learning an overview of the aspects regarding guest service and restaurant operations.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides superior guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow employees.
    • Work in all aspects of Hotel operations; housekeeping, front desk.
    • If time allows work Front of House positions from Hostess, Cashier, Server and Attendant.
    • Communicates between guests and management employees to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Assist in tracking customer feedback, employee feedback and operational concerns.
    • Communicate with front of house and hotel management to best utilize the experience.
    • Responsible for meeting departmental goals in the “NPS” program.
    • Act in ways that will surprise and delight our guests. Leave guests with positive feelings about our property and establish/maintain relationships with them.
    • Approach each situation with a “yes we can” attitude, every guest every time.
    • Comply with our drug & alcohol free workplace. Subject to post offer, for cause and post-accident drug tests.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Third or fourth year college student preferred
    • Must possess average computer skills, specifically with all Microsoft Office programs.
    • Excellent customer service experience
    • Must have the ability to solve complex problems
    • Oral and written communication skills
    • Must be able to learn all essential job functions within 90 days

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, POS terminals, housekeeping equipment and basic computer programs.
    • Walking/Standing 100% of which 10% is bending/lifting ( up to 50 pounds)
    • Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
    • To encourage and abide by all health codes and hand washing guidelines.
    • Ability to work fast paced with a sense of urgency.
